- A newfound obsession with something called “redrum”
Stunning like a ruby, deep and dark and luscious like a rose. Red coated Neoballs are not only bright and beautifully colored, they also offer increased longevity, a warmer initial touch and softer contact sound when connected. Red is the color of blood, and the color of the health bar in most video games, so it’s no surprise that these magnets also offer increased longevity over standard magnetic spheres. The red polymer coat on these neodymium magnetic balls truly pops – making them great for giving your sculptures a unique “Christmas-ey” vibe (Or gory, go ahead and add magnet blood to your sculptures. Take pictures of it and submit it to magnetspheres.com! that actually sounds cool.) and can allow you to live out your fantasies of driving a firetruck. A tiny, magnetic firetruck. Made of neodymium balls. One you can drive with your pinky finger.
Colors won’t fade with soft abrasion and if used gently, the coating can last for years. The matte texture diffuses reflections, but is still slippery smooth to the touch.
The coating is strong & thin, but still soft compared to Electro Neoballs. Polymer coatings are too precious to withstand high speed impacts, or rough kneading.
All Polymer rare earth magnets by Neoballs feature a ± 0.05mm tolerance.
Not susceptible to oxidation, rusting, tarnishing, and moisture erosion, this coating is very strong.
Okay shape and size consistency of magnets. The size variance of these magnets is ± 0.05mm. Currently, this is the tightest tolerance available for this style of magnet.
Some shielding to collision, scraping, hitting and dropping. These magnets will not withstand high speed impacts, collisions, or rough kneading without chipping or denting coating.
Very good strength against rubbing, wiping, brushing, and kneading.
To be fair, I never reached out to @Zenmagnets about this issue so Im unsure how they would have handled the complaint. My kids and I love these magnets and use them alot during boring times. (Doc visits, traveling, etc) But I was pretty disappointing in, specifically, these red neoballs. We purchased a few cheap sets from Chinese manufacturer's prior to these and never had any of them lose their color quite like this set. The red 'paint' started pealing about a month or so after use. Making them look terrible and old. While the cheap knockoffs never lost their color. Not even worn in area. These red zen magnets pealed and chipped off so bad so quickly I ordered a red replacement from the cheap guys because my daughter was jealous of her brothers brightly colored pink and blue sets that were half the price and where almost a year old! Sorry guys, would most likely never purchase and of your colored sets. I do have one gun metal set from you guys that has held up nicely.
These red neo balls are wonderful in every way, the magnetism is strong, they are resilient to pressure, and have a great coating. Even though I have seen some with not so good coating, you can always send an email to support and they will help you.
Those magnets are very fun to play with and easy to get lost if they get stuck to something magnetic
Have enjoyed making structures for years.
Started flaking off on day one. Eventually got tired of it and took acetone mail Polish remover to get three rest off. And there's been a couple magnets lost because they lost charge. Otherwise these have been awesome. Next time I'll get the electroplated ones.
Never received the magnets or refund. Not happy about service. No idea if product is good.
I want to start this off by saying that all other coatings have been up to par, except for red. I recently purchased a set of red Neoballs and straight out of the box multiple spheres have patches of silver where the coating had come out. The coating was very rough like sandpaper and after using them for a few days (I did not knead them at all, I only knead with my micromagnets) almost every single one has chipped at the poles. This is extremely visible when in cubic forms as the poles are exposed. For comparison I have every other color except black, some of which I have had for years and very very few of them have chipped or lost any coating at all. I had this exact same problem a few years ago with the same product. Back then I assumed it was just a mistake but now after buying a new set years later it seems unlikely to me that that was the case. I was very disappointed with them, they look terrible now that they are covered in silver chipped patches and after using them for more than a few minutes I find that my hands have little bits of red coating on them. Because of this I would not recommend buying these, however I wholeheartedly recommend every other color.
